Brandywine Takes Second Place At Scranton Invitational
SCRANTON, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's cross country team placed second, while Lauren Husain (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) represented the Lions' women's team with a third-place showing Saturday afternoon at the Penn State Scranton Invitational.
Husain, the lone Brandywine woman to compete, recorded a time of 36:13 on Scranton's 6K course to finish in third place.
Four Brandywine men finished in the top 10, paced by Darryl Osei (Glenolden, Pa./Bonner-Prendie), who claimed fourth. Osei produced a time of 35:35 during the 8K run, while Tewahido Agonafir (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy at Palumbo) ran to a time of 36:39 to finish sixth.
Kevin O'Neill (Morton, Pa./Springfield) was the eighth runner to cross the finish line, recording a time of 37:16, while Abu Mattia (Yeadon, Pa./Penn Wood) was the 10th-place finisher, hitting the line in 37:41.
Rounding out the Lions was Christian Zita (Freehold, N.J./Colts Neck), who ran to a mark of 45:58, and Jack Williams (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville), who clocked in at 51:13.
Brandywine returns to action next Saturday at the University of Delaware Invitational.
