
Bryn Athyn Edges Brandywine 4-3
BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Bryn Athyn edged Penn State Brandywine by a 4-3 score in United East Conference women's tennis action on Tuesday afternoon.
Brandywine won the doubles point by claiming the top two flights in doubles action. Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) and Sofia Guzman (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Berchmans) teamed to win 6-4 at No. 1, while the duo of Aerynne Mays (Easton, Pa./Wilson) and Madison Ollis (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) combined to claim a 6-3 triumph at No. 2.
The Lions also posted wins at No. 1 and No. 3 during singles action.
Zahran eased to a straight-set triumph during her top-flight singles match by identical set scores of 6-2, 6-2. Guzman also rolled in straight sets at No. 3 by counts of 6-1, 6-2.
Brandywine will close out the regular season on Saturday at home against St. Mary's of Maryland at 1:00 PM.
