Welden Earns PSUAC Goalkeeper Of The Week Honor

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine sophomore Brandon Welden (Essington, Pa./Interboro) was named Penn State University Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season on Tuesday.

Welden posted a shutout during the Lions' lone game last week, a 2-0 home victory over Saint Vincent on Friday. He stopped all six shots he faced for his fourth clean sheet of the year.

In addition, Welden extended his personal shutout streak to 256 consecutive minutes. He has not surrendered a goal since Sept. 29, a span of more four appearances.

This fall, Welden leads all PSUAC goalkeepers in wins (10) and goals-against average (0.96), while standing second in save percentage (.845). In two seasons at Brandywine, Welden owns a record of 15-3-2.

Brandywine (12-2-2, 9-0 PSUAC) hosts a PSUAC Tournament semifinal Saturday at 1:00 PM.
