PSUAC Tabs Lewandowski As Pitcher Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine sophomore April Lewandowski (Atco, N.J./Hammonton) was selected as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

Lewandowski went 2-0 with a 1.40 earned run average and six strikeouts in the circle last week.

She helped Brandywine sweep Penn State Mont Alto by limiting the Mont Alto offense to just one unearned run on six hits in six innings on Thursday. Three days later, she pitched four innings and struck out five in a win over Albright.

In nine starts this spring, Lewandowski holds a 7-2 record and is tied for the PSUAC wins lead. She has struck out a team-high 40 batters in 44.2 innings, while pitching to a 1.88 ERA. During her two seasons at Brandywine, Lewandowski has won 18 games and fired 10 complete games.

Brandywine (16-6, 7-1 PSUAC) plays its next six games at home beginning Friday against Penn State New Kensington at 3:00 PM.
