UNIONTOWN, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine softball team rounded out its Penn State University Athletic Conference schedule by sweeping Penn State Fayette by scores of 11-0 and 17-4 on Sunday afternoon to claim the conference's regular-season title. Lexi Bussenger (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) became the 14th player in team history to record 100 career hits in game one and set the program's single-season hit record in game two.

Game One: Penn State Brandywine 11, Penn State Fayette 0

Bussenger recorded singles during the fourth and sixth innings to push her career total to 100. She also stole two bases and scored a pair of runs.

She launched a three-run home run during the first inning and added a solo shot in the third. Mushinski's two-run single started a seven-run fourth inning.

Naya Rivera (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) added a two-run double, while Becky Valente (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) tripled in Rivera and scored the final run via wild pitch.

The top five in Brandywine's batting order collected 12 hits in 19 at-bats and all nine starters had a hit as Brandywine won going away, 17-4, in the nightcap.

Bussenger recorded two hits to extend her hitting streak to 37-straight games and set a new Brandywine single-season hits record at 62. She broke Mushinski's mark of 60 set last season.

Karly Rees (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) went 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, while Mushinski, Ferry, Payton Landis (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) and Sarah Moore (New Holland, Pa./Pequea Valley) all had two hits.

Rees' two-run home run followed Landis' run-scoring double during the second inning, while Mushinski drove in three with a triple one inning later. Moore, Landis, Rees and Bussenger all tallied run-scoring hits during the final two innings.
