Brandywine Wraps Up Fall Season At Eastern

ST. DAVID'S, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's and women's tennis teams closed out the fall half of their schedules at Eastern University on Saturday. Brandywine's men claimed a 7-2 victory, while the Lion women fell by a 7-2 score.

Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) accounted for both victories on the women's side. She earned a straight-set singles victory by scores of 6-2, 6-0 after teaming with Jackie Capers (Enola, Pa./Commonwealth Charter Academy) for an 8-4 doubles triumph.

On the men's side, the Lions won two-of-three doubles matches and five-of-six singles bouts.

Zach Champine (Coto de Caza, Calif./Jserra Catholic) and Alexander Michael (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown) combined to win a No. 1 doubles, 8-6, while Joe Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) and Raj Mamidala (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) claimed an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Champine was a straight-set winner during his top-flight singles match by a count of 6-0, 6-1. Braud recorded a 6-4, 7-5 triumph at No. 2, while Michael registered a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3. Mamidala earned his second win of the day at No. 5 singles, winning 6-4, 6-2 and Aggam Khurana (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) accounted for the Lions' final singles triumph, a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 4.
