Arcadia Downs Brandywine In Road Match

GLENSIDE, Pa. -- Arcadia University dealt the Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team a 7-2 road defeat on Saturday afternoon.

Brandywine trailed the match 2-1 through doubles action after earning a point at No. 3 doubles. Alexander Michael (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown) and Raj Mamidala (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) teamed to claim an 8-4 triumph.

The Lions' second point of the day came during the top-flight round of singles. Joe Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) registered a straight-set victory by a score of 6-3, 6-3.

Michael pushed his No. 2 singles bout to a third set before falling 3-6, 7-6, 6-8, while Aggam Khurana (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) also went the distance at No. 5. Khurana claimed the opening set 6-4, but Arcadia's Carlos Pinga rallied to win the final two frames 7-5, 10-6 to win the match.

Brandywine (3-5) will be idle for nine days before returning to the court Monday, April 15 for its final road match of the year at Immaculata beginning at 4:00 PM.
