Brandywine Defense Stout In Rout Of Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pennsylvania -- Penn State Brandywine forced 38 turnovers and limited Penn State Mont Alto to 31 percent shooting as it moved to 3-0 in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference with a 56-38 victory Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (3-3, 3-0) ran out to a 30-15 halftime lead, while allowing just 15 made field goals by Mont Alto during the game, none from beyond the arc.

Brandywine totaled 21 steals, led by Cashae Hinton's (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) five swipes. Lauren Munro (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) and Stacey MacArthur (Newtown Square, Pa./Delco Christian) both tallied four.

Despite shooting just 28 percent from the field, Brandywine led by double figures for nearly the entire game. Hinton paced the offense with 12 points, while Munro poured in 10. Jessy Gledhill (Secane, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) added nine and MacArthur contributed eight.

Chelsea Dent (Yeadon, Pa./Penn Wood) pulled down a game-best 10 rebounds, while Munro grabbed nine.

Ashley Madison led Mont Alto with seven points and five rebounds.

Brandywine returns home Tuesday to host Central Penn at 6:00 pm.
