Brandywine Makes 2023 Debut At Bryn Mawr Invitational

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's cross country team began its 2023 season with an eighth-place finish at the Bryn Mawr Invitational on Friday evening.

Brandywine's five-man team totaled 177 points en route to its eighth-place finish, while Swarthmore claimed the team title by collecting 30 points.

Leading six Brandywine runners was John Finley (West Chester, Pa./Regina Luminis Academy), who placed 26th in the 67-man field. Finley crossed the finish line in 19:14 during his collegiate debut.

Tewahido Agonafir (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy at Palumbo) recorded a 5K time of 21:59 to claim 46th place, while Kevin O'Neill (Morton, Pa./Springfield) hit the finish line 17 seconds later.

Issan Ryans (Wilmington, Del./Dickinson) clocked in at 23:38, while Gui Henn (Exton, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) and Alex Jennings (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) posted times of 25:40 and 29:14, respectively.

Arcadia's Brendan Blyth recorded the men's top time of 17:06 to earn individual medalist honors.

Brandywine will have three weeks off before returning to action on September 23 when the Lions host their annual Brandywine Invitational.
