Brandywine Trio Earns All-PSUAC Women’s Basketball Honors

MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- The Penn State University Athletic Conference released it end-of-year women's basketball awards on Monday and three student-athletes from Penn State Brandywine were honored as Cashae Hinton (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) and Olivia Encarnacion (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) were both named second team all-conference and Lauren Munro (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) earned honorable mention accolades.

Hinton claimed all-conference laurels for the second-straight season and third time overall during her career after leading the PSUAC in assists per game (4.7) and steals per game (3.8). She currently stands fourth nationally in assists and fifth in steals.

A starter in all 27 games, Hinton was also the team's third-leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 10.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per outing.

Hinton completed her 109-game career as the sixth-highest scorer in program history, pouring in 1,176 points, while also recording 415 assists and 337 steals.

Encarnacion led the team in scoring for the second time in her three-year career at 11.9 points per game. She poured in at least 20 points three times, including a season-best 26-point effort at Penn State DuBois on Jan. 15.

Encarnacion, who started 26 games, also averaged 4.2 rebounds per game, while adding 37 steals and 35 assists.

Also a First Team All-PSUAC women's soccer selection, she will enter her senior year at Brandywine needing 77 points to reach 1,000 for her career.

Munro garnered honorable mention honors to end her career after contributing 11.2 points per game and a team-high 5.5 rebounds per contest, while shooting 55 percent from the field, the fifth-best mark in the USCAA. She also finished the year eighth in the conference in steals (2.7 per game) and 17th in assists (2.7 per game), while appearing in all 27 games for the Lions.

One of the top scorers in Brandywine history, Munro scored 1,262 points over the last four seasons, finishing her 109-game career fourth on the Lions' all-time scoring list. She also hauled in 659 rebounds and recorded 244 assists and 229 steals during that time.

Penn State Hazleton's Alexis Daly and Penn State Lehigh Valley's Andrea Watkins shared player of the year honors, while Hazleton freshman McKenzie Prutsman was named newcomer of the year.
