Amanda Floyd Receives PSUAC Player Of The Week Award

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine senior Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) was selected as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, her second weekly honor of the season, on Tuesday.

Floyd poured in a career-high 31 points, recording the second 30-point performance of her career on Sunday at Penn State Shenango, the first-place team from the PSUAC West Division. While playing all 40 minutes, Floyd connected on 10-of-20 shots from the field, including five three-pointers, and tallied five rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots.

One night earlier, Floyd scored a team-leading 15 points in a 34-point victory over Penn State New Kensington.

Overall during the week, Floyd shot nearly 50 percent from the field, while averaging 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks.

The 11th member of Brandywine's 1,000-point club, Floyd owns 1,065 points during her 73-game career. She leads the team in scoring for the second-straight year and ranks fourth in the PSUAC by averaging 15.6 points per outing.

Brandywine (7-8, 6-3 PSUAC) faces Penn State Hazleton at home on Wednesday beginning at 6:00 PM.
