Zahran Selected To Academic All-District Team

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine's Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team following her sophomore season.
 
A student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 and compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches or start in at least 66 percent to be eligible for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. Academic All-Americans will be announced in June. 
 
One of seven United East Conference women's tennis players to receive the award, Zahran has earned a 3.99 grade-point average as a human development and family studies major. She posted a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year and is a four-time Dean's List honoree. 
 
On the court, Zahran was a Second Team All-United East standout after tallying a 9-3 record at No. 1 singles for the Lions. She won eight of her 12 singles matches in straight sets, while recording a 5-2 conference mark. Zahran also won seven of her 12 No. 1 doubles bouts.
