Mont Alto Jumps Out Early; Fends Off Lions

MONT ALTO, Pa. -- Penn State Mont Alto grew a 23-point halftime lead and Penn State Brandywine was unable to chip away in the second half as Mont Alto posted an 88-63 PSUAC men's basketball victory on Tuesday night.

Mont Alto led 45-22 after 20 minutes and while the Lions' offense improved in the second half, Brandywine could not make a comeback after being outscored 43-41 in the second stanza.

Christian Hauser-Dinkins (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) and Amir Johnson (Philadelphia, Pa./Community Academy) both collected nine points in reserve roles, while Cyrie Spencer (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) added eight points and six steals. Johnson also led the team in rebounding with eight boards.

After playing three games in four nights, Brandywine (1-5, 0-1 PSUAC) is idle until Saturday when it hosts Penn State Beaver at 5:00 pm.
