York Rides Offense Past Brandywine

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State York shot 54 percent from the field and picked up a 91-69 victory over the Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon.

Marcus Turner (Claymont, Del./Chichester) paced four Brandywine scorers in double figures with 18 points and added four rebounds and three assists, while Isaiah Lester (Morton, Pa./Ridley) posted 13 points and both Terrance Quinn (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) and Chris Abbonizio (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) collected 11 points.

Naifes Smalls (Philadelphia, Pa./PE&T Charter) filled the stat sheet with six points, 11 rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Brandywine managed just 27 percent shooting and sank nine three-pointers, while York held a 47-41 edge on the glass and received 28 points from Trent Thomas.

York led 15-3 after five minutes of play and pushed its lead to 20 at the 7:22 mark following a 10-0 run. The advantage for York reached 29 by halftime and would not dip below 20 points in the second half.

Brandywine (5-14, 4-6 PSUAC) faces conference-leading Penn State Mont Alto at home on Wednesday at 8:00 pm.
