Brandywine Drops Season-Opening Match To Abington

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team opened its 2022 season with a 7-2 home setback against Penn State Abington on Tuesday afternoon.

Abington swept three doubles matches to build a 3-0 lead and claimed the match after winning four-of-six singles bouts.

Tanuj Gaikwad (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) won his top-flight singles match in straight sets by identical scores of 6-4, 6-4.

Tejas Agarwal (Bangalore, India/Bangalore North) rallied to win his singles match in three sets. After dropping the opening frame 2-6, Agarwal evened the match with a 7-6 triumph in set No. 2 and claimed Brandywine's second victory of the afternoon by winning the third set 10-5.

Brandywine (0-1) is back in action on Saturday at Neumann at 1:00 PM.
