Brandywine Edges Cabrini In Final Road Match

RADNOR, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team wrapped up the road portion of its schedule by defeating Cabrini University 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Tanuj Gaikwad (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Luke DeAngelis (Downingtown, Pa./Henderson) both posted a pair of victories to lead the Lions. 

Gaikwad paired with Walidad Ghuman (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) to win at No. 1 doubles 8-6, while the team of DeAngelis and Tejas Agarwal (Bangalore, India/Bangalore North) recorded an 8-2 triumph to give Brandywine a sweep of doubles action.

The Cavaliers won 3-of-5 singles match, but victories in singles by DeAngelis and Gaikwad gave Brandywine the overall match victory. DeAngelis won at No. 3 in straight sets by scores of 6-0, 6-2, while Gaikwad registered a 6-2, 6-0 victory during his top-flight bout.

Brandywine (3-3), which has won three-straight matches, plays its final four games of the spring at home beginning next Saturday against Arcadia at noon.
