Brandywine Downed At Eastern

ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team was defeated 8-1 at Eastern University on Friday afternoon. 

Tanuj Gaikwad (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) earned the lone victory for the Lions at top flight singles. He claimed a straight-set triumph over Eastern's Bryan Levi by scores of 6-3, 7-6.  

Gaikwad and doubles partner Walidad Ghuman (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) pushed their No. 1 doubles bout to the brink before being edged 9-8.  

Zackery Wall (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) won the second set of his No. 6 singles match to force a third and deciding set, but dropped a 7-6 decision during the final frame. Luke DeAngelis (Downingtown, Pa./Henderson) and Tejas Agarwal (Bangalore, India/Bangalore North) both earned three points in their singles matches, but fell in straight sets.  

Brandywine (0-3) is back at home Saturday to face Gwynedd Mercy at 1:00 PM.
