Kaitlyn Johnson Signs With Brandywine Women's Basketball

MEDIA, Pa. -- Kaitlyn Johnson will continue her basketball and academic careers at Penn State Brandywine next season as the Upper Darby senior recently signed with the Lions' women's basketball squad.

Johnson was a three-sport standout at Upper Darby High School, earning three varsity letters in basketball, while playing four seasons of varsity field hockey and two years of softball. A team captain for both the basketball and field hockey teams during her senior year, Johnson was named JV basketball most valuable player as a freshman and earned the varsity team's Sixth Man of the Year honor two years later. As a senior, Johnson earned a starting nod for the basketball team and was selected to receive the field hockey team's Captain Award.

Johnson noted she chose to attend Penn State Brandywine "because walking through the campus instilled a feeling of home with me. The school is also giving me the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love."

Johnson will join the Brandywine women's basketball team, which is coming off a 20-8 season, its third 20-win campaign in the last four years, and a runner-up finish at the PSUAC Tournament under Head Coach Larry Johnson.
