Abbonizio Earns Second PSUAC Goalie Of The Week Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania -- For the second time this season, Penn State Brandywine sophomore goalkeeper Alyssa Abbonizio (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) has been selected as the PSUAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.

Abbonizio earned the win in net during a pair of Brandywine victories last week. Loggin 184 minutes in goal, Abbonizio made eight saves, while allowing just two goals.

Abbonizio has started all seven games this season for the Lions, posting wins in five of those matches. She leads the conference in goals-against average (1.77), while standing third in save percentage (.745).

Brandywine, which has already clinched a spot in the PSUAC Championship game on Nov. 1, faces Penn State Greater Allegheny on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
