Bush, Florschutz Receive PSUAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Accolades

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine's Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) and Averie Florschutz (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) both claimed weekly awards from the Penn State University Athletic Conference as Bush was named goalkeeper of the week and Florschutz was selected as the offensive player of the week.

Bush logged eight saves and Florschutz scored twice during Brandywine's 3-1 victory over Penn State Hazleton on Sunday, giving Brandywine sole possession of first place in the PSUAC with two conference games remaining.

Florschutz netted both of her goals during the first half, handing Brandywine a 1-0 lead just 3:48 into the game before doubling the margin to 2-0 at the 38:34 mark. Bush made the two-goal lead stand up, stopping a pair of shots in the first half and six more during the final 45 minutes.

Florschutz doubled her season goal total to four and stands as Brandywine's third-leading scorer with 10 total in eight games this fall, while Bush owns a 4-3 record, 30 saves and two shutouts during seven appearances in net. She earned her second player of the week honor of the season and 10th of her career.

Brandywine (5-3, 4-0 PSUAC) goes for a sixth-straight victory on Wednesday night at Alvernia.
