Brandywine Softball Accepts Bid To USCAA World Series

MEDIA, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine softball team will return to DuBois, Pa., for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association World Series after earning an at-large bid on Thursday evening.

The World Series will be held May 16-20 at Heindl Memorial Field in DuBois.

Dependent upon results from this weekend's PSUAC Tournament, Brandywine will be the No. 4, No. 6 or No. 7 seed in the World Series. The Lions, who own a 17-5 record under Head Coach Mark Caserta, are the top seed from the PSUAC East Division entering the conference tournament.

Brandywine will be making its sixth-straight appearance in the USCAA postseason. After finishing ninth in 2015, Brandywine has placed in the top five during each of the last four years.

Florida National will be the top seed in the USCAA World Series, while Mississippi University for Women is No. 2 and St. Mary of the Woods is No. 3. Penn State DuBois, Penn State Mont Alto, Carlow University and Penn State New Kensington/D'Youville College also received bids.
