Lions Edge GA To Remain Unbeaten In PSUAC

WHITE OAK, Pa. -- Brad Jule (Chadds Ford, Pa./Salesianum) scored the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute and Penn State Brandywine held on to defeat Penn State Greater Allegheny 3-2 in Penn State University Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday.

Jule ripped a shot that beat GA goalkeeper Prakash Wagley at the 68:01 mark to break the 2-2 tie and Brandywine net minder Joe Opdenaker (Lenni, Pa./The Christian Academy) needed to make just one more save the rest of the way to preserve the win.

GA jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute, but Bill Walleekendeh's (Chester, Pa./Chester) 38th goal of the season knotted the score under three minutes later. The deficit was the first faced by Brandywine in a PSUAC match this season.

With just five second remaining before halftime, Josh Burton (West Chester, Pa./PA Cyber Charter) helped Brandywine take the lead for the first time when he headed in Stevie DiSipio's (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) crossing pass. Greater Allegheny quickly retied the score 27 seconds into the final stanza.

Opdenaker stopped five of the seven shots he faced for Brandywine, while Wagley blocked six shots in goal for GA.

Brandywine can secure the No. 1 seed in the PSUAC Tournament with a victory Tuesday at Penn State Hazleton (4:00 pm).
