Fabiano, Reynolds Receive John Fritz Sportsmanship Awards

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine baseball senior Brian Reynolds (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) and softball sophomore Cara Fabiano (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) received the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award in their respective sports from the Penn State University Athletic Conference on Monday.

Named after former PSUAC Commissioner John Fritz, the sportsmanship award is given to one player from each team in the league who best displays the core values of the league and sportsmanship to teammates and opponents throughout the season. Fabiano earned recognition for the second-straight season.

Both Fabiano and Reynolds were off to strong starts before the season was cancelled. Fabiano owned a 3-1 record with four complete games in four starts. She posted a 2.37 earned-run average with nine strikeouts in 23.2 innings pitched. Reynolds was hitting a team-best .412 with nine runs scored in 11 games. He collected the 100th hit of his career on March 9th.

Reynolds is a career .290 hitter with 60 runs batted in during 115 games for the Lions during the last four years. He was an honorable mention all-conference selection following his junior season and was named PSUAC Newcomer of the Year as a freshman.

Fabiano was a 13-game winner during her rookie season, ranking third in the PSUAC in victories and eighth with 57 strikeouts. She fired 12 complete games and added 15 hits at the plate to earn an all-conference honorable mention selection.
