Alex Rogers Joins Brandywine Volleyball Class Of 2024

MEDIA, Pa. -- Georgia native Alex Rogers has signed to compete for the Penn State Brandywine volleyball team in 2020.

A three-sport athlete at Milton High School in Alpharetta, Ga., Rogers earned a total of 10 varsity letters during her high school career, including four in volleyball. A team captain as a senior, Rogers was an all-region selection in 2019 after leading Milton back to the Georgia State Tournament as the team's leader in kills and blocks. One year prior, she aided Milton in reaching the state title match, where it finished as the runner-up. Rogers also received the Coach's Award and Most Improved Player award from the Milton volleyball team, while earning the Fitness-Iron Woman Award and Most Improved Player award from her club volleyball team.

In addition to playing four years of volleyball, Rogers earned two varsity letters in basketball and four with the Milton track & field team. She claimed the Coach's Award and Most Improved Sprinter honor as a member of the track squad.

Outside of athletics, Rogers holds a Healthcare Pathway Surgical Technician Certificate and received the Medicine Achievement Award from National Youth Leadership Forum.

Rogers chose to attend Penn State Brandywine because "I love the small campus, small classes and easy access to professors. It has great academics for my biology major and I have an opportunity to continue to play volleyball."

Rogers joins Kirsten Zoellner in Brandywine volleyball's incoming freshman class. The Lions will enter their fourth season under Head Coach Fabiana Scavicchio-Fields this fall.
