Brandywine Downed By Miami Hamilton To End Florida Trip

VERO BEACH, Florida – Miami Hamilton scored eight runs during its final three at-bats and defeated the Penn State Brandywine baseball team 10-3 as the Lions completed their Spring Break trip to Florida on Thursday morning.

Brandywine scored the game's first run as Josh Dellipriscoli (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) doubled to start the game and scored on Gabe Encarnacion's (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) two-base hit.

The Lions added single runs during the third and fourth frames. Encarnacion crossed home when Steve Trainor (Broomall, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Dellipriscoli plated Will Scott-Norris (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant) with a sacrifice fly in the fourth that made the score 3-2 in Brandywine's favor.

However, Miami Hamilton answered with a pair of runs in the sixth and poured on five more during its next at-bat to take control of the game.

Encarnacion recorded two of Brandywine's four hits, while Brian Bosco (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) received his first loss on the mound for the Lions after surrendering four earned runs and striking out one in six innings.

Adam Shumate tossed four innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win for MUH and Jarrod Hall led the Harrier offense with three hits.

Brandywine travels to the University of Valley Forge on Tuesday for a 3:30 pm game.
