Osenbach Named First Team All-American; Gorgone Earns Honorable Mention

HAMPTON, Virginia -- Penn State Brandywine junior third baseman Tom Osenbach (Newtown Square, Pa./West Chester Christian) was selected as a first team baseball all-American by the USCAA recently, while sophomore outfielder John Gorgone (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) earned honorable mention laurels.

Osenbach, who claimed his second all-American award after being named to the second team in 2014, led the team with a .416 batting average and .507 on-base percentage. 17 of his 47 hits went for two bases, ranking him second nationally in doubles and tied for seventh in extra-base hits.

In 35 games, all starts, Osenbach drove in 28 runs, while scoring 29 times, and recorded 12 multi-hit performances. He tallied his 100th collegiate hit on April 6th against Penn State Hazleton and now owns 128 career knocks.

Osenbach will begin his senior season needing five RBI to reach 100 for his career.

Gorgone tied for the PSUAC lead and fifth in the USCAA with his team-best five home runs. He also led Brandywine with 29 runs batted in, while finishing second with 12 stolen bases and third in runs (28). Eleven of Gorgone's 37 hits went for extra bases as he compiled a .389 batting average in 32 games.

Brandywine finished the season with a 20-15 record, its second-straight 20-win campaign, and placed second in the PSUAC during the regular season for the second consecutive year.
