Brandywine Continues To Cruise In League Play; Tops York

MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- The Penn State Brandywine baseball team remained unbeaten against PSUAC compeition by defeating Penn State York by scores of 13-2 and 9-3 on Saturday afternoon.

John Gorgone (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) and Josh Dellipriscoli (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) both recorded five hits to pace the Lions offensively. Gorgone scored three times and drove in a pair during game one and crossed home twice more during the nightcap, while Dellipriscoli also scored three runs in the opener.

Gabe Encarnacion (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) recorded two hits and two RBI to help in the Lions' 13-2 victory, while Evan Cline (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) also added two runs batted in.

Brian Pennock (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) pitched the first 6.0 innings to earn his second win. He struck out seven and allowed just one run, while scattering six hits.

Six Lions recorded multi-hit performances in game two, including Dellipriscoli's three-hit effort. Tom Osenbach (Newtown Square, Pa./West Chester Christian) and John McGarvey (Wilmington, Del./Concord) both drove in two runs and Cline recorded two stolen bases.

Carmen Scota (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) improved to 3-1 this spring after tallying five strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. He yielded two earned runs on five hits.

Brandywine (11-10, 6-0 PSUAC) faces Penn State Fayette on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
