Brandywine Bows Out Of PSUAC Tournament

DUBOIS, Pa. – The third-seeded Penn State Brandywine baseball team saw its season come to a close following a 9-0 defeat against No. 2 Penn State Mont Alto in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Mont Alto scored four times in the first inning and plated a run during each inning except the fourth, while tallying 15 hits overall.

Brandywine was limited to four hits, singles off the bats of Ryan Snyder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley), Evan Abegg (Commerce City, Colo./Prairie View), Sam Benvignati (Aston, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and Evan Shade (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen). Snyder also stole a base and worked a walk in four at-bats.

Michael Govan (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) received the loss on the mound after yielding six runs (four earned) during the first three innings. Jaylen Bryant (Brooklyn, N.Y./High School of Telecommunications) fanned one and allowed one run in two innings of work, while Connor Thompson (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) surrendered two runs over one frame on the mound.

Brandywine finished the 2024 season with a record of 23-15, including a 15-5 mark in the PSUAC.
