DeStefano Earns Second Pitcher Of The Week Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania -- For the second time in three weeks, Penn State Brandywine freshman Katie DeStefano (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) has been selected as the PSUAC Pitcher of the Week.

DeStefano earned victories during all three of her starts and tossed a pair of one-hit shutouts against conference competition. She struck out eight and allowed just one hit against Penn State New Kensington on Saturday and took a no-hitter into the sixth inning against Penn State Fayette the following day before it was broken up by a two-out, infield single.

Overall during the week, DeStefano struck out 18, while surrendering just four earned runs on nine hits.

DeStefano, who has won each of her last five decisions, owns a 2.38 earned-run averaged and team-high 38 strikeouts this spring. She is also batting .440 with 10 RBI at the plate.

Brandywine (12-5, 8-0 PSUAC) visits Franklin & Marshall on Thursday at 3:00 pm.
