Harcum Edges Brandywine 83-69

MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- Maya Mosley scored 32 points and Harcum pulled away during the final minutes for an 83-69 victory over the Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team on Thursday night.

Neither team led by more than four points until the 5:01 mark of the fourth quarter when Mosley drained a triple, capping a 10-2 Harcum surge that gave the visitors a 68-58 edge.

Brandywine battled back as Cashae Hinton (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) drained two free throws and Jessy Gledhill (Secane, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) connected on a three-pointer. The Bears pushed back in front by nine, but Lauren Munro (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) sank back-to-back baskets and Brandywine trailed by just five with 2:29 to play.

However, Mosley responded with another three during Harcum's ensuing possession and the Bears netted the game's final eight points, pulling away from Brandywine during the final 60 seconds.

The tightly-contested first half featured eigh ties and eight lead changes with neither team buildng a lead larger than four points.

Munro's layup gave Brandywine its first lead of the game at 10-8 with 2:24 to play in the first quarter, but Harcum scored six of the final eight points to grab a 14-12 edge after 10 minutes. Mosley's triple with 1:13 to play in the second quarter extended Harcum's lead to four, but Hinton netted two free throws with 38 ticks on the clock to pull Brandywine back within two at the break.

Hinton and Munro both scored 17 points and Hinton added five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Gledhill tallied 10 points and Olivia Encarnacion (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) registered nine points and three steals.

Brandywine plays its final non-conference game of the year Monday at the University of Valley Forge at 7:00 pm.
