Lions Fall At Albright In Road Opener

READING, Pennsylvania -- The Penn State-Brandywine volleyball team was defeated by Albright College in four sets on Thursday night at the George C. Bollman Center. Set scores for the match were 19-25, 25-16, 22-25, 20-25.

Freshman Nicole Poissant paced the offense with 12 kills and four aces, while junior Kirsten Jerla contributed 11 kills. Junior Nicole Costa added nine kills and chipped in defensively with three solo blocks and classmate Miranda Biondi handed out a season-best 35 assists.

Biondi also recorded 11 digs, while junior Kimberly Russo posted a match-high 20 digs to lead the defense. Sophomore Kelsey Zober added a pair of blocks.

Brandy Blimine totaled 11 kills and 14 digs to lead Albright. Claudia Guise tallied 23 assists and 11 digs, while Caitlin Klotzbach also compiled 11 digs.

Brandywine continues its five-match road swing on Tuesday with a trip to Central Penn beginning at 7:00 pm.
