Volleyball Earns No. 20 National Ranking

NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia -- Penn State Brandywine has earned the No. 20 ranking in the latest national volleyball poll released by the USCAA on Friday afternoon.

The Lions, who own a 9-6 record this fall, moved into the rankings after collecting 97 points in the vote of head coaches from around the USCAA.

Brandywine sits in third place in the PSUAC with a 5-1 record, having won nine of its last 11 matches overall under the guindance of Head Coach Melissa Algeo. Fellow PSUAC schools Penn State Fayette (No. 7), Penn State Mont Alto (No. 16) and Penn State Greater Allegheny (No. 19) also earned national accolades. Brandywine defeated Mont Alto and Greater Allegheny by identical 3-0 scores earlier this fall.

Rochester College took over the No. 1 ranking, while Florida College dropped to No. 2. Alfred State, Indiana-South Bend and Cincinnati-Clermont rounded out the poll's top five.

The Lions visit Mont Alto on Tuesday beginning at 7:00 pm.
