Brandywine Earns Two Victories On Final Day Of Dig Pink

MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- Penn State Brandywine knocked off Penn State Scranton and Penn State Wilkes Barre by identical 3-0 scores to close out a perfect 4-0 homestand on Sunday during the final day of the team's Dig Pink Weekend.

Set scores during the Scranton victory were 25-8, 25-8, 25-7, while the Lions defeated Wilkes Barre 25-9, 25-0, 25-13.

Freshman Nicole Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) compiled 16 kills, 19 assists and six aces on the day, while junior Kirsten Jerla (Springfield, Pa./Notre Dame) added 11 kills and classmate Nicole Costa (Landsdowne, Pa./Upper Darby) recorded nine kills along with three service aces.

Junior Miranda Biondi (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) handed out 32 assists and accumulated 13 aces. Classmate Kimberly Russo (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) tallied seven aces against Scranton.

Costa totaled six blocks (five solo), while Biondi paced the Lions with eight digs and Russo added seven.

Brandywine (13-7, 9-2) continues PSUAC play on Tuesday with two matches at Penn State Schuylkill beginning at 5:00 pm.
