Brandywine Wraps Up Spring Break Trip
DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Penn State Brandywine baseball team closed out its week-long trip to Florida following a 6-4 loss to SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday.
Brandywine built a two-run lead entering the bottom of the third inning as Ryan Snyder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) walked, stole two bases and scored on a wild pitch in the first before crossing home via David Kursman's (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) single in the third.
Cobleskill scored single runs in three consecutive frames to jump ahead 3-2 through five. The Fighting Tigers added three more scores in the seventh.
The Lions got two runs back in the eighth inning when Nate Turner (Dover, Del./Dover) doubled in Shawn Webb (Drexel Hill, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) and then scored on Kursman's single; however the Lions were unable to trim the deficit any further.
Snyder worked two walks, scored twice and swiped three bases, while Kursman had a pair of hits, stole two bases and drove in two and Turner notched two hits.
Brandywine returns home to face Notre Dame of Maryland on Tuesday at 4:00 PM.
