
Brandywine Falls At Abington
JENKINTOWN, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine baseball team dropped a 9-2 United East Conference game at Penn State Abington on Wednesday afternoon.
Daniel Horowitz (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) led the offense with a pair of singles in four at-bats. He also drove in the Lions' first run of the day with a groundball following Ryan Brown's (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) one-out double in the third inning.
Owen Lawton (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown East) doubled and came around to score via Miguel Rodriguez's (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) single to provide Brandywine's second run one frame later.
The hosts built a 5-0 lead through three innings and tacked on a single run in the fourth before scoring three times in the fifth.
Noah Walker (Bremen, Ga./Bremen) limited Abington to one run and five hits, while striking out three during the final 4.2 innings. Gianni Serenelli (Fairless Hills, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) fanned one in 3.1 frames and suffered the loss.
Brandywine hosts Keystone for another conference doubleheader Friday at Maple Zone beginning at 4:00 PM.
