Altimari Lands PSUAC And USCAA Hitter Of The Week Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State University Athletic Conference released its first weekly awards of the spring season on Tuesday and Penn State Brandywine junior Hayden Altimari (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. Anthony's) was selected as the league's baseball hitter of the week. Additionally, Altimari was named hitter of the week by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Altimari helped Brandywine sweep Penn State New Kensington in a season-opening doubleheader as he homered in the top of the eighth inning of game two, putting Brandywine in front for good, 4-3. The long ball was the second of the game for Altimari. He hit a solo shot to open the scoring in the second inning, giving him the Lions' first two-home run game since 2019.

Since 2019, Altimari is a .286 hitter for the Lions with 22 hits in 78 at-bats. He owns three career home runs, along with 16 runs batted in and eight runs scored.

Brandywine (2-0) opens conference play at Maple Zone on Friday, March 26 against Penn State York at 5:00 pm.
