DeBooth And Manful Claim Player Of The Week Awards

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine's Elijah DeBooth (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) and Chris Manful (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) were named players of the week by the Penn State University Athletic Conference on Tuesday.

DeBooth was selected as the goalkeeper of the week after producing a pair of shutouts during the Lions' home tournament last weekend. He stopped two shots against both Central Penn and SUNY ESF to earn his second and third victories of the season.

DeBooth now has 12 career shutouts during 24 starts in goal. He topped all PSUAC keepers with nine clean sheets last season and is the only net minder in the PSUAC with a pair of shutouts through the first two weeks of the 2023 campaign.

Overall this season, DeBooth has collected 17 saves and a 1.60 goals-against average in four starts.

Manful recorded the sixth hat trick of his career on Saturday, scoring four times during the Lions' 6-0 victory over Central Penn. He added his sixth goal in four matches this season on Sunday in a 2-0 Brandywine victory.

Manful, the 2022 PSUAC Player of the Year, currently tops all conference players in goals, points (12) and shots (12).

During his 26-match career at Brandywine, Manful has tallied 44 goals and nine assists for 97 total points. He paced the PSUAC with 38 goals and 85 points in 2022.

Brandywine (3-1) visits Marywood on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
