MEDIA, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine began its Penn State University Athletic Conference women's soccer slate with a 5-0 victory over Penn State Mont Alto on Wednesday afternoon.
Arianna Segich (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) put Brandywine on the board in the 23rd minute with her first goal of the year and Rachel Weir (Neptune City, N.J./Red Bank) added a second score just under five minutes later.
Olivia Encarnacion (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) took a feed from Ami Iannello (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) and deposited Brandywine's third goal of the half at the 31:51 mark. Iannello's assist was her second of the half.
The Lions tacked on two more goals during the final 45 minutes as Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) scored for the third time in as many games and Weir netted her second goal of the contest.
Brandywine goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) needed to make just one stop for her second shutout of the season. The Lions totaled 13 shots on goal.
Brandywine (2-1, 1-0 PSUAC) is back at home Saturday afternoon against Penn State Scranton at 1:00 pm.
