BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania – The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team continued to cruise through its conference competition as the Lions claimed three-set victories over Penn State Lehigh Valley and Penn State Hazleton on Sunday.
Brandywine, which has now won five-straight matches, all in three sets, improved to 5-0 in the PSUAC and 7-1 overall this fall.
The Lions easily dispatched of Lehigh Valley, winning by set scores of 25-6, 25-13, 25-2.
Halee Kusner (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) led Brandywine with eight kills against Lehigh Valley, while Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) tallied seven. Poissant matched Kim Russo (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) for the team lead in digs with three.
Miranda Biondi (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) registered 13 of the Lions' 36 aces and recorded 15 assists. Kelsi Wiest (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) added nine aces, while Russo collected six aces and four assists.
Brandywine faired just as well against Hazleton, winning by scores of 25-10, 25-20, 25-2.
Kusner and Nicole Costa (Lansdowne, Pa./Upper Darby) tied for the team lead with six kills, while Poissant collected five.
Russo added six more aces and seven digs. Biondi and Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) both handed out 14 assists.
Brandywine hosts Bryn Mawr in non-conference action on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
