Lions Seeded Eighth In USCAA Volleyball Tournament

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Penn State Brandywine will be the No. 8 seed during its first appearance at the national level when the Lions begin the USCAA Tournament next week in Canton, N.Y.

Brandywine, which won the PSUAC for the first time with a 3-1 victory over Penn State Fayette on Sunday, faces top-seeded and defending national champion Florida College in its first of four Pool A games. The Lions and Falcons will square off at 11:00 am on Nov. 5.

Brandywine will also have matches with Alfred State (2:00 pm) and Maine Fort Kent (5:00 pm) during the opening day of the tournament and closes out pool play with a match versus St. Mary of the Woods at 1:00 pm on Nov. 6. The top four teams in Pool A advance to Friday night's quarterfinals.

The semifinal and championship rounds of the 10-team tournament will be played Saturday, Nov. 7. All pool play games will be played on the campus of SUNY Canton at the school's Convention, Athletics and Recreation Center, while Saturday's semifinal and championship game's will be featured in Dana Hall, also on the campus of SUNY Canton.

Brandywine enters the postseason riding a 13-game winning streak and owns a 21-3 overall record.
