Brandywine Downs Scranton 2-0 For First League Win

SCRANTON, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team evened its conference record at 1-1 following a 2-0 road victory at Penn State Scranton on Monday afternoon.

The teams were scoreless late into the first half before Brandywine struck for the match's first goal just before intermission. Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Gia Cetroni (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) connected on the score as Cetroni tucked in the Lions' 17th shot of the half for her fourth marker of the season.

Brandywine added an insurance goal during the 83rd minute. Priemon dribbled through traffic and lofted a long shot past Scranton goalkeeper Trinity Gammaitoni to double Brandywine's lead to 2-0.

The Lions poured on the shots during the second half, recording 18 on goal during the final 45 minutes, and 27 for the match.

Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) stopped all four shots she faced to record her second shutout of the season. All three of Brandywine's victories this fall have come via shutout.

Brandywine (3-6, 1-1 PSUAC) faces Penn State Hazleton in its final home match of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 2:00 PM.
