Late Flurry Helps Brandywine Secure No. 2 Seed In PSUAC Tournament

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine scored three times during the last five minutes and defeated Penn State Schuylkill en route to locking up the No. 2 seed in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament and a home semifinal match next weekend.

With the score deadlocked at 2-2, Gia Cetroni (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) scored the go-ahead goal at the 84:18 mark. Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) followed with an insurance goal 73 seconds later and then scored again with 3:39 to play in regulation.

Schuylkill netted a goal 2:12 into the first half, but it took the Lions less than four minutes to find the equalizer. Leyla Vasquez (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) dished a pass to Cetroni, who found the back of the net with Brandywine's first goal of the day.

Vasquez added a goal during the 31st minute to give Brandywine a 2-1 edge, which the Lions brought into the break. Schuylkill knotted the count at 2-2 with a goal from Zoe Gannon early in the second half.

Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) played all 90 minutes in net for the Lions, earning her sixth win. She made seven of her 11 saves during the final 45 minutes.

Brandywine (6-6, 4-1 PSUAC) will host a PSUAC Tournament semifinal on Saturday, October 29. Time and opponent are still to be determined.
