Brandywine’s Priemon, Dorvilma Honored As Player Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- Sophomore Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) was named Goalkeeper of the Week by the Penn State University Athletic Conference, while freshman Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) earned United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Dorvilma totaled 13 saves and recorded her second shutout of the season, while Priemon tallied two goals and one assist during two matches last week.

Dorvilma stopped all four shots she faced and Priemon had a hand in both scores with a goal and an assist in Brandywine's 2-0 victory over Penn State Scranton on Monday. The win evened Brandywine's conference record at 1-1.

Four days earlier, Priemon scored a second-half goal and Dorvilma made nine saves, with seven coming during the second half, during the Lions' conference opener against Penn State Mont Alto.

Priemon, who is tied for the team lead with five goals, tops the Lions in total points with 12 through nine matches this fall. Dorvilma leads all PSUAC goalkeepers with 61 saves, three victories and two shutouts.

Brandywine is idle until next Wednesday when the Lions host Penn State Hazleton at 2:00 PM.
