Brandywine Collects Four Women’s Soccer All-American Honors

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine's Gia Cetroni (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West), Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) and Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) were all named United States Collegiate Athletic Association Second Team All-Americans, while Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) was selected all-American honorable mention when the Association released its end-of-year women's soccer awards last week.

Cetroni, Lineman and Priemon all tied for the team lead in points with 20, while each appeared in all 15 matches this fall.

Cetroni collected seven goals and matched Priemon for the team lead in assists with six to finish in a tie for third nationally in helpers, while standing 12th in total points. One-of-four players to start every match, Cetroni notched four game-winning goals during the season.

In a victory over Valley Forge, Cetroni tallied two goals and three assists for a season-best seven points. She also tallied a two-goal, two-assist game in an October triumph over Penn State Schuylkill.

Lineman was the Lions' leading goal scorer as she placed 12th in the USCAA with nine markers. Lineman scored three times on Sept. 3 at Valley Forge and added two-goal performances in a pair of wins over Penn State Schuylkill.

Lineman produced a pair of assists with helpers coming in wins over Penn State Beaver and Valley Forge and ranked second on the team with 55 shots over 15 games. In games that Lineman tallied at least one point, Brandywine owned a record of 5-1.

A starter in every match, Priemon collected seven goals and six assists during her first season at Brandywine. She recorded points in nine of the Lions' 15 matches, including six-straight games with a point from Sept. 28-Oct. 22.

Priemon registered a goal and an assist in the same game three times. Brandywine was victorious in each of those games, defeating Valley Forge, Bucks County and Penn State Scranton.

James, who is also an all-American infielder on the Brandywine softball team, made 13 starts in the midfield and recorded seven goals, tying Cetroni and Priemon for second on the team. She added one assist for 15 total points.

James collected a hat trick against Valley Forge on Sept. 15 and scored twice against Penn State Hazleton early in October. She also tallied a goal and an assist in a PSUAC Tournament victory over Penn State Schuylkill.

Brandywine completed the season with a record of 8-7 and advanced to the PSUAC Championship for the sixth time in the seven-year history of the program.
