MEDIA, Pa. -- Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) scored both goals and the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team recorded its second-straight shutout win by blanking Penn State Hazleton 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Brandywine, which shut down Penn State Scranton 2-0 nine days ago, outshot Penn State Hazleton 26-1 and put a goal on the board during each half.
Gia Cetroni's (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) long lead pass sent James in on goal and James put a shot through Hazleton goalkeeper Linsey Fisk's legs for the opening score at the 32:32 mark.
The Lions doubled their lead during the 59th minute when Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) sent a cross to James, who buried her team-high sixth goal of the year.
Brandywine's defense shut down Hazleton, holding the visitors without a shot over the final 58 minutes. Lions' keeper Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) stopped one shot to earn her third shutout win of the season.
Brandywine (4-6, 2-1 PSUAC) plays its final three matches of the season on the road beginning Saturday at Penn State Beaver (12:00 PM).
