Quick Start Lifts Yeshiva Past Brandywine

MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- Yeshiva University scored three times during the first 25 minutes and earned a 4-1 victory over Penn State-Brandywine in non-conference men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon.

The loss dropped the Lions to 1-3 (1-0 PSUAC) this season, while the Maccabees remained unbeaten at 4-0.

Itmar Ben David dished a pass to Daniel Amar, who found the back of the net to give Yeshiva a 1-0 advantage just over four minutes into the first half. David also assisted on Leon Aboudi's goal at the 10:33 mark. The Maccabees added a third goal of the opening stanza off the foot of Adir Alon.

Following Alon's second score of the game, Patrick Lutes put the Lions on the board with his first goal of the season midway through the second half. Senior Brad Jule found Lutes open in front of the net and Lutes was able to slide the ball past Yeshiva netminder Maor Feinstein for the Lions' lone goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Patrick O'Neill stopped seven shots for Brandywine, while Feinstein blocked seven of the eight shots he faced.

Brandywine concludes its three-match homestand on Wednesday at 4:00 pm against Centenary College of New Jersey.
