Brandywine Clipped By Immaculata 2-1

IMMACULATA, Pennsylvania -- Penn State Brandywine dropped a narrow 2-1 decision to Immaculata in non-conference men's soccer action from Draper Walsh Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

The defeat dropped the Lions to 3-6 overall (3-0 PSUAC), while the Mighty Macs improved to 2-5-1.

Freshman net minder William Scott-Norris received the start in goal for the Lions and looked strong, making seven saves. Senior Frenc Baro netted Brandywine's lone goal on a penalty kick during the 52nd minute.

Immaculata jumped in front at the 18:38 mark following a goal from Kyle Jumalon off a feed by Tyler Budgick. The Mighty Macs doubled their lead just before the half when Jumalon found Andrew Raudabaugh, who managed to beat Scott-Norris for a goal.

Brandywine threatend early in the second half, but a shot off the foot of Nicholas Abhulimen sailed wide. However, Baro was taken down in the box just seconds later and pounded a penalty kick past Might Mac goalkeeper Joseph Lubonski, slicing the deficit in half.

The Lions registered three additional shots and a pair of corner kicks during the final 30 minutes, but were unable to muster the tying goal.

Immaculata recorded nine shots on goal, compared to six for Penn State Brandywine, and attempted six corner kicks, while Brandywine tallied three.

Brandywine returns home for the first time in two weeks when it hosts Penn State Mont Alto on Thursday at 4:00 pm.
