Second-Half Rally Lifts Brandywine To Victory Over New Kensington

NEW KENSINGTON, Pennsylvania -- Penn State Brandywine scored three goals during the second half to overcome a 2-1 halftime deficit and defeat Penn State New Kensington 4-2 on Saturday, upping its PSUAC men's soccer record to 2-0.

Junior Jeison Fajardo netted an early goal just 13:24 into the game, but New Kensington rallied with a pair of scores during the final minutes of the opening half to grab a 2-1 lead after 45 minutes.

Sophomore Bill Walleekendeh evened the score with his second goal of the season at the 58:12 mark. Brandywine threatened with three corner kicks during the next 25 minutes and finally broke the tie following a goal off the foot of freshman Patrick Lutes.

Walleekendeh added an insurance goal with under six minutes remaining to cap the scoring.

Brandywine recorded 13 shots on goal, while New Kensington tallied nine. Freshman net minder William Scott-Norris made seven saves for Brandywine.

Brandywine visits non-league foe Widener on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
