Lions Remain Unbeaten In PSUAC With 4-1 Win At Hazleton

HAZLETON, Pennsylvania – The Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team ran its Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference record to 6-0 after defeating Penn State Hazleton 4-1 on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Bill Walleekendeh (Chester, Pa./Chester) continued his hot play by recording his second three-goal game in eight days to lead the Brandywine offense.

Walleekendeh scored twice during a 1:30 span just before the end of the first half to give the Lions a 2-0 edge after 45 minutes. Freshman Patrick Lutes (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) assisted on Walleekendeh's first tally, marking his fifth-straight match with at least one point.

Hazleton came within one goal following a score by Joseph Torres in the 61st minute, but Walleekendeh answered with his third goal of the match off a feed from junior Nabieu Sesay (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) just over 10 minutes later, pushing Brandywine's lead back to two.

Sesay capped the scoring with his seventh goal of the season during the 84th minute.

Brandywine produced 17 shots on goal, while limiting Hazleton to just six. Senior goalkeeper Nick Previti (Aldan, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) upped his record to 5-3 by stopping five shots.

The Lions (7-7, 6-0 PSUAC) return home on Sunday to face PSUAC foe Penn State Schuylkill at 1:00 pm.
