Stritzinger Named Hitter Of The Week By PSUAC

MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- The Penn State University Athletic Conference has named freshman left fielder Ashlee Stritzinger (Wilmington, Del./Concord) as its hitter of the week the league announced on Tuesday.

Stritzinger played a big part in the Brandywine offense, collecting hits in all four games during a 3-1 week for the Lions.

During Brandywine's victory over Cairn, she blasted her first collegiate home run, a grand slam in the third inning, while tallying three hits, three runs scored and seven runs batted in.

Overall during the week, Stritzinger batted .429 (6-14) with 10 RBI and five runs scored. Five of her six hits went for extra bases.

Through 13 games, Stritzinger's 12 RBI rank second in the conference and she is tied for third in extra-base hits, while batting .281 at the plate.

Brandywine opens conference play Sunday with a home doubleheader against Penn State Mont Alto at 2:00 pm.
